Highlights from Puerto Lopez

For those who don't know, until coming to Orlando in May, Bruce and I had been living in Puerto Lopez, Manabi, Ecuador. We like to call it a sleepy little drinking village with a fishing problem. You can buy fish at the mercado or get the fresh catch on the beach when they bring it in every morning. This is what the area by the pier looks like when the catch comes in.

You never know what you'll need to sidestep when walking on the beach

Until we got the car, our primary means of transportation besides walking was by mototaxi, which is pretty awesome!

The town is fantastic. They were just beginning to build a new malecon when we left, and I gather a lot more gringos have moved in. I'm anxious to know how different it is when we get back.
